The Governor of Baghdad, Muhammad Jaber Al-Atta, directed the revival of heritage buildings and the follow-up of their rehabilitation.
A statement from the governorate, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated, “The Governor of Baghdad, Muhammad Jaber Al-Atta, made a visit to Al-Mutanabbi Street, and inspected on the ground the reality of the old Baghdad Mutasarrifate building and the old Baghdad Police Station, located in the Jadid Hassan Pasha area.”.
The governor stressed, according to the statement, “the necessity of paying attention and following up on the file of rehabilitating old heritage buildings in the capital, and reviving those sites in coordination and communication with the Ministry of Culture and the Capital Secretariat, in order to restore life to those sites, in implementation of the initiative of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, to revive heritage buildings.” And preserve it.”
