Transportation Minister: The government has a clear vision to manage and operate Faw Port optimally

    Transportation Minister Razzaq Muhaibas Al-Saadawi confirmed on Tuesday that the government has a clear vision to manage and operate Faw Port optimally.
     
    “Transportation Minister Razzaq Muhaibas Al-Saadawi received today, in Baghdad, a Russian delegation headed by the Aide to the President of the Russian Federation, Igor Levitin, and Kharchenko Andrey, Levitin’s assistant, and Aleksey Sagal, an economic advisor, along with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Iraq, Elbrus Kotrashev, and the third secretary of the embassy, Aleksey Dobrynin, where they discussed strengthening relations and joint work with regard to the transport sector,” transportation ministry stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
     
     
    During the meeting, Al-Saadawi stressed “the importance of the development road project and its economic feasibility for Iraq, the countries of the region and the world,” pointing to “the Grand Faw Port project and its great importance for the development road.”
     
     
    He pointed out that "Iraq aspires to create economic integration among the countries of the region," noting that "its strategic location qualifies it to be a destination for global investment."
     
    For his part, the Aide to the President of the Russian Federation Levitin expressed his country's "serious desire to strengthen joint cooperation, particularly in the transport sector", stressing "the readiness of his government to participate in the development road project and exchange experiences in all areas of transport".
