    Baghdad-INA
Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Relations confirmed On Sunday, that the government program focused the international relations file on three axes, while praising the efforts of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudan in the water file.

The First Vice-Chairman of the Committee, Jabbar al-Kanani, told the Iraqi News Agency: "The Government programme focused on three themes: strengthening bilateral relations with all States in accordance with the principle of common interests and mutual respect, and secondly moving away from the policy of interlocutor and adopting Iraq's interest first, and focusing on productive economic diplomacy for the benefit of the Iraqi people."

    Regional relations

Al-Kinani explained, "The government set out from this fact towards making shuttle trips to neighboring countries, the region, and great and developed countries."

He added, "This comes in order for these relations and visits to serve one interest, which is reconstruction and building the new economy."
    The Saudi-Iranian agreement

He pointed out that "the reconciliation and agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia benefits the region, especially Iraq," noting that "the countries of the region suffer from economic problems that cannot be solved except with regional calm and security and political stability that encourage international companies to invest and work in this region, in addition to... Building the features of intra-trade between these countries, and thus the agreement between the two countries has benefited the region and has positive effects on the world."

He pointed out that "Iraq has good relations with Iran, Saudi Arabia, the Gulf states and the region," noting that "Iraq's relationship with Iran is strategic, as there are common ties and constants linking the two peoples, in addition to geographical borders, historical depth, and common interests."
US conditions on the central bank

He continued, "Iraq seeks to have balanced relations with all countries on the basis of common interests, mutual respect, and everything that benefits the Iraqi people."

He pointed out that "the trade movement in the past was proceeding in a confused and illegal manner, which led to the United States imposing some conditions on the Central Bank of Iraq in order to carry out an open and known commercial operation, and this required the government, represented by the Central Bank, to impose new work contexts on merchants."

The government price is parallel to the dollar

He stated that "the recent tensions over the dollar issue are artificial, and after the measures imposed on merchants, some of them began to buy dollars from the parallel market."

He stressed that "the government is working to equalize the parallel price with the government price, but this takes time."

Gulf relations and investments in Iraq

He added, "Relations with the Gulf countries are witnessing good growth and are at their best, and there is a great willingness on the part of the countries to work and strengthen bilateral relations and enter into investment projects in Iraq."

He noted that "the government invested in the opportunity and agreed with most Gulf countries on economic partnerships, industrial agreements, and joint cooperation in various fields."

He added that there are "continuous mutual visits between the parties," noting that "the Foreign Relations Committee participated in more than one conference of Arab and Asian parliaments, and it was noted that there was a great demand from representatives of the Gulf countries to come to Iraq and participate in all the events."

He pointed out that "the government program is proceeding with openness to all countries through economic partnership," noting that "the government is proceeding with any agreement that benefits the two peoples, including the agreements concluded by the previous government with Egypt and Jordan."

    Water file negotiations
Regarding the water file, Al-Kanani continued, “The water file is a complex, and the reasons for negligence in it go back to previous governments and their management of this file in terms of negotiation and dialogue with countries or through investment and optimal exploitation of water through modern agriculture or the use of advanced means."

He added, "The government began the file of negotiations with neighboring countries regarding water, as the Minister of Water Resources succeeded in convincing the Iranian side to launch water supplies, which contributed greatly to the disappearance of the salt tongue in the Shatt al-Arab and the arrival of good quantities to Basra Governorate, in addition to the government starting A round of negotiations with the Turkish side, as the Prime Minister’s visit contributed to the release of supplies, and everyone is waiting for the Turkish President’s visit in order to reach an agreement that satisfies both parties."

    Iraqi-Chinese relations

Regarding Iraqi-Chinese relations, the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee pointed out that “the Iraqi-Chinese agreement is still valid and effective between the two countries, and there is a Chinese desire to continue it, in addition to the presence of many visits by Chinese companies in order to activate the terms of the agreement."

Al-Kanani called on the government to "make efforts and communicate in this regard, especially since Chinese companies possess the ability, efficiency, and speed of achievement and implementation, and thus can contribute significantly to construction and reconstruction in the country."
