The Spanish club Barcelona, headed by Joan Laporta, announced the club’s budget for the new season (2023-2024), confirming that it recorded higher numbers than planned, and that it was able to reduce debts for the second season in a row.
The official account of FC Barcelona on the “X” platform published a budget statement yesterday evening, Thursday, in which it confirmed the improvement of the club’s situation in all areas of work.
The statement added, “The FC Barcelona Board of Directors announces that the club ended the fiscal year (2022-2023) with a net profit of 304 million euros after taxes, which is a higher result than that approved in last season’s budget.”.
During the season (2022-2023) at the combined level, FC Barcelona achieved an operating income of 1,259 million euros, with operating expenses rising to 1,165 million euros.
The statement continued, "These results were achieved in a season that will be recorded in history for the record operating numbers that were recorded in the field of trade and facility exploitation. The club has improved in all areas of work, and in each of them it recorded higher numbers than planned, at the commercial level, with revenues amounting to 351 million euros.".
(+43% compared to the previous year), the club obtained historic activity figures. The sponsorship area practically reached the figure of 200 million euros, and merchandise sales in Barcelona stores reached 100 million euros in sales, which is an absolute record in this type of business.”.
The statement continued, "During the season (2022-2023), FC Barcelona achieved a record number of new sponsorship contracts in one season, amounting to 97.6 million euros, thanks to the addition of 20 new sponsors or renewal with others."
