Advisor to the Prime Minister, Hussein Allawi, confirmed today, Friday, that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, is supervising the investigation into the Al-Hamdaniya incident, while indicating that the penalties will be severe against those who are negligent.
Allawi said to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The Prime Minister’s visit to Al-Hamdaniya, his meeting with the people, and his visit to the Archbishopric of Mar Behnam and Sarah in the Al-Hamdaniya District (Baghdida) in Nineveh Governorate was an important message confirming that the state is present and determined to address the imbalance completely, and that there will be a tightening In the penalties that will be issued through the investigation report supervised by the Prime Minister and managed by the Ministry of Interior.”.
He added, "The security forces arrested those accused of negligence, including the three investors of the hall, and failure to provide safety conditions," pointing out, "The search is underway with the criminal and administrative investigation that the Prime Minister directed to hold accountable all those who were negligent and all forms of corruption and negligence that led to this painful tragedy.".
He pointed out, "The government is determined to continue confronting the corruption pandemic and is carrying out a humanitarian mission with all its formations to dry up the functional corruption over the past twenty years, as well as the corruption that Iraq inherited from the previous regime.".
Regarding the review of investment licenses, Allawi stressed that “there will be major government work to emphasize the application of safety conditions in building materials and construction, especially since many of the projects that were referred over the past twenty years were not monitored, as well as projects in the liberated areas, and there was randomness in construction, and it must be It scrutinizes how safety conditions are applied in them and in buildings, in implementation of the Prime Minister’s directives, and local governments must play their role in scrutinizing the granting of building permits.”
