PM Meets with the Commander of the International Coalition against Daesh in Iraq and Syria

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani met with Major General Joel Vowell, the Commander of the International Coalition against Daesh in Iraq and Syria, in the presence of the US Ambassador to Iraq. Media Office of the Prime Minister said in a statement.
 
They discussed security cooperation between Iraq and the International Coalition against Daesh, particularly in terms of advisory support, arming, intelligence sharing, and training of Iraqi security forces. The focus was on enhancing their development and combat capabilities.
 
During the meeting, there was a strong emphasis on the importance of the ongoing efforts of the joint committee between Iraq and the International Coalition against Daesh. This committee was established following a security delegation's visit, led by the Minister of Defense, to the United States in August. Its goal is to define the future relationship with the International Coalition against Daesh/ISIS following the defeat of ISIS terrorist groups and the increased capabilities of Iraqi forces, enabling them to ensure security across all regions and areas under their responsibility.
