DGIS captures two wanted persons on charges of terrorism and drug trafficking in Baghdad

The General Directorate of Intelligence and Security announced on Sunday, two wanted persons were arrested on charges of terrorism and drug trafficking in Baghdad.

The directorate said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “With vigorous field follow-up and intelligence effort, the detachments of the Baghdad Intelligence and Security Directorate affiliated with the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security of the Ministry of Defense were able to arrest two wanted persons on charges of terrorism and drug trafficking, through their presence in the Al-Midan and Hay areas or in Baghdad, two arrest warrants were issued against them in accordance with the provisions of Articles (4/Terrorism, 28 Narcotics)."

She added that the defendants, "one of them was found in possession of narcotic drugs and a pistol the materials were confiscated and the necessary measures were taken against them and they were referred to the competent authorities."
