The government sets up a precise program for the investment sector, says NIC Chairman

    The Chairman of the National Investment Commision-NIC, Haider Muhammad Makiya, discussed on Tuesday, with the South Korean Minister of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport Won Hee-ryong, the development of economic relations and the possibility of South Korean companies participating in implementing investment projects in vital sectors in Baghdad and all provinces.
     
     
    "Baghdad is keen to develop its economic and commercial relations with South Korea, and work is under way to strengthen the development indicators in investment projects in various housing, industrial, service, agricultural, infrastructure and energy sectors at the level of all governorates," said NIC Chairman in his speech, at the Global  Infrastructure   Cooperation Conference  held in the capital of the South Korean Republic, Seoul, with the participation of official and international companies, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
     
    "NIC is implementing specific work programs to attract capital and solid companies through the investment opportunities it announces, such as new cities in Baghdad, Holy Karbala, Babil, Anbar, Nineveh, and other various opportunities," Makiya elaborated.
     
    "The Iraqi government has prepared a precise governmental program that grants space to sponsor the investment sector, and supports mechanisms to expand the areas of regional and international partnerships with well-established investment companies in order to implement projects that meet the needs of society and achieve the economic feasibility planned for them," he added.
     
    He continued, "NIC welcomes the policy of expanding the horizons of dealings with South Korean companies, giving them a strategic dimension that is compatible with the nature of the investment projects approved by the National Investment Commission."
     
    The conference discussed the importance of planning cooperation between participating countries, stimulating the investment sector and encouraging investors to exchange visits between countries to develop the sector, as well as achieving the economic integration factor between Iraq and the rest of the developed countries in investment and economy.
