Oil Ministry accomplishes new well drilling 3538 metres deep in Zubair field

The Ministry of Oil announced On Monday, the completion of the drilling of a new 3,538-metre-deep well in the Zubair field.

A statement from the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that, "the technical and engineering staff of the Iraqi Drilling Company completed the drilling of the oil well Zubair/563 at a depth of 3538 metres, within the contract with ENI Italian to drill 37 oil wells in the Zubair oil field in Basra in cooperation with Schlumberger Petroleum Services, which is the 23rd well completed in this project."

The statement added that "drilling operations were carried out using the 1500-horsepower IDC 38," stating that "the device will be transferred to another location in the same field to start drilling the Zubair/608 oil well, the company has allocated two IDC37 drilling devices, IDC 38, to implement this project and is one of the modern devices owned by the company."
