MOWR: Mosul Dam is stable and reports of its collapse baseless

The Ministry of Water Resources MOWR confirmed on Sunday that the situation of the Mosul Dam is stable, indicating that reports of its collapse are baseless.

A statement by the ministry received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "Some media outlets circulated news about the possibility of repeating what happened in the Libyan city of Derna in Iraq through the collapse of the Mosul Dam."

The statement added that "the situation of the Mosul Dam is stable, and there is no validity to its collapse, as was recently rumored by the media," stressing that "the presence of large storage spaces in the dams enables us to face any possibility of large amounts of rain and safe storage."
