PM Meets with Canadian Ambassador to Iraq

Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani received the outgoing Canadian Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Gregory Galligan, to mark the conclusion of his diplomatic mission.
 
The Media Office of the Prime Minister said in a statement received by Iraqi News Agency (INA) “During their meeting, the Prime Minister extended his gratitude to Ambassador Galligan for his dedicated efforts during his diplomatic mission in Iraq. He emphasized the significance of the bilateral relationship between Iraq and Canada, highlighting the constructive and essential cooperation that has developed between the two nations.
 
For his part, Mr. Galligan expressed Canada's commitment to supporting Iraq in addressing climate change challenges and collaborating on the optimal use of water resources. He also reiterated Canada's plans to provide training and advice to Iraqi security forces as part of the efforts of the Global Coalition against Daesh team operating in Iraq.
