Al-Sudani Receives NATO Mission Commander in Iraq

    Media Office of the Prime Minister stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency INA that "Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani received the Commander of the NATO Mission in Iraq, Lieutenant General Jose Antonio Aguero Martinez, and his delegation this morning."

    The statement added that "During the meeting, they discussed NATO's mission in Iraq, cooperation with the Iraqi armed forces in training and advising, and the increasing capabilities of the Iraqi armed forces across all branches, along with their ongoing operations against the remnant terrorist gangs."

    The statement also added that "The NATO mission in Iraq presented the Prime Minister with a final report assessing cybersecurity threats in Iraq."

    The Prime Minister expressed according to the statement "his appreciation for NATO's work, emphasizing Iraq's commitment to implementing the cybersecurity strategy approved by the Ministerial Council for National Security in 2022. He also highlighted the establishment of a higher committee for cybersecurity to enhance coordination among relevant agencies."
