The Spanish Football Federation announced the retirement of Jordi Alba, the current American Inter Miami midfielder, from international football with the "Matador" national team.
The Spanish Federation published a statement on its website, in which it confirmed that Alba said “goodbye” to the Spain national team shirt, writing a perfect ending after holding the European Nations League title as captain of “La Roja.”.
Alba participated in 92 matches with the Spanish national team, scoring 9 goals, and contributing to the victory in the European Nations Cup (Euro 2012) and the European Nations League 2023 at the expense of the Netherlands.
Alba wore his country's shirt for nearly 12 years since October 2011, before putting an end to this international career at the age of 34, after participating in the World Cup, the European Nations Cup 3 times, the London Olympics, and the Confederations Cup.
