Rashid stresses the need to implement projects related to the transport sector and equipping airports

    President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid stressed on Thursday the need to implement projects related to the transport sector and equipping airports.

    A statement by the Office of the president of the republic received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the president of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received today at the Baghdad Palace, the minister of transport, Razzaq muhaibis, "indicating that"during the meeting, the most important files related to the transport sector in the country were discussed.

    The president of the Republic stressed, according to the statement, "the importance of adopting ways to improve the reality of this important sector in a manner befitting Iraq and keeping pace with the development witnessed by the world in this area," praising the efforts of the minister of transport in adopting reforms.

    He pointed to the" necessity of implementing projects related to the transport sector, equipping airports and activating cooperation mechanisms with the relevant countries, "stressing"the need to cooperate with accredited companies in this field.

    For his part, the minister of transport expressed his "thanks and appreciation to the president of the Republic for his material and moral support aimed at upgrading the reality of the Ministry of transport," providing a detailed explanation about the progress of the ministry's work and its plans for development in all joints, as well as the development of services provided to citizens.

    He reviewed the railway project (Basra-shalamjeh), which it is hoped to start in cooperation with neighboring Iran.
