Rashid confirms to the Syrian Ambassador importance of cooperation in combating terrorism

President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid stressed on Thursday the importance of coordination and cooperation with Syria in the field of combating terrorism and issues of common interest.

 A statement by the presidency of the republic, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said that "the president of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received the ambassador of Syria to Iraq Sattam Jadaan Al-Dandah".

The statement added that"the ambassador conveyed the greetings of Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad to the president of the Republic, while the latter, the ambassador conveyed his greetings to President Al-Assad and his wishes to the brotherly Syrian people for stability, security and prosperity".

The president stressed"the importance of coordination and cooperation in the field of combating terrorism and issues of common interest in a way that serves the interests of the two countries and peoples and enhances security and stability in the region".

For his part, the Syrian ambassador pointed to "his country's keenness to expand the horizons of constructive bilateral cooperation with Iraq in order to achieve the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples in stability, progress and well-being".
