State Administration Coalition: Supporting the government's dialogue efforts with Washington

    The State Administration Coalition affirmed support for the government's dialogue efforts with the United States, while discussing the ongoing preparations for holding provincial elections next December.

    PM Al-Sudani hosted on Tuesday, the periodic meeting of the State Administration Coalition, during which the general conditions in the country were discussed. They also discussed the progress of implementing the government plans prepared in various sectors, and the most prominent of what has been achieved within the priorities of the government program, which aim at advancing the service and economic reality in general, according to the media office of the Prime Minister statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

    "Parliamentary affairs were also on the agenda, highlighting the importance of coordination between executive and legislative bodies in addressing significant matters," included in the statement.

    They went through the preparations for the upcoming provincial elections in December, emphasizing the ongoing support for fair, impartial, and transparent elections. Additionally, the meeting focused on the amendment to the law of the Independent High Electoral Commission, ensuring its constitutional and legal procedures are followed while considering raised observations.

    During the meeting, they reviewed the outcomes of the visit of the Iraqi security delegation headed by the Minister of Defense to the United States, particularly regarding charting future bilateral relations. The meeting underlined the importance of dialogue efforts with the United States that enhance national sovereignty and safeguard the nation's interests across various domains.

    Furthermore, the meeting emphasized robust parliamentary oversight and urged adherence to approved financial disbursement methods in the budget. The imperative of avoiding misuse of resources for electoral gains was highlighted, preserving equal opportunities and preventing misuse of public funds.

    "The ministerial committee drafting the oil and gas bill was urged to finalize discussions with experts from the Federal Ministry of Oil and the Ministry of Natural Resources in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq to produce the bill," according to the statement.
