MOT: Flour and foodstuffs are fully secured

The Ministry of Commerce confirmed that the ration card and flour items are fully secured, and we recorded a surplus in wheat production, compared to the actual need of the country, which amounted to 700 thousand tons.

The director of the General Company for Grain Processing in the Ministry of Commerce, Khaled Ismail al-Nadawi, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "With direct guidance from the Prime Minister and the Minister of Commerce, the Ministry of Commerce in all its joints works day and night in order to provide all the items of the ration card.".

He added, "The flour material is secured until the seventh month of next year, and this year we have exceeded 5 million tons of wheat production, and our actual need annually is 4 million and 700 thousand tons, and we now have a surplus of about 700 thousand tons of storage, and there will be a recycling process with The existing stock of wheat in the marketing season for the next year.

With regard to the marketing plan, Al-Nadawi indicated that "the process includes the delivery of quantities of wheat by the farmer at the specified time, in exchange for him paying his financial dues within two or three days, which created satisfaction for the farmer by entering the harvest season in the next season."
