The Russian army declares control of a town in northeastern Ukraine

The Russian army announced its control of a town in northeastern Ukraine, where Moscow forces have launched an offensive for several weeks, unlike what is happening on the southern front, where it repels a Ukrainian counter-attack .

"In the Kobyansk region, the town of Novoselievsky was liberated thanks to the efficient and professional actions of the Russian units," the Defense Ministry said on Telegram .

The Ukrainians had regained this town from the Russian forces in December 2022 .

The Ukrainian army announced on Friday that it is facing Russian attacks in the regions of Kobyansk, Liman and Svatovy in the northeastern section of the front .
