Al-Sudani Leads Meeting on Combating Economic Crime

     Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani led Today, a crucial meeting with key government and security officials to address economic crime combat and prosecution.

     And the media office of the Prime Minister stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA),"During the meeting, they reviewed ongoing efforts to combat currency smugglers, criminal networks, and those sabotaging the domestic economy, and violating laws and people's rights."

     The Prime Minister emphasized the government's special focus on these efforts, as they form vital pillars of economic reform and combating corruption. 

    He stressed the importance of a cohesive, continuous approach among relevant agencies in combating economic crimes, pursuing currency smugglers, and apprehending tax evaders. 

    The Prime Minister has initiated a review to implement precautionary executive measures, focusing on deploying mobile or fixed checkpoints along key roads connecting border crossings. 

    This measure aims to curb the illegal transfer and smuggling of goods, which have a detrimental impact on Iraq's economy upon entering the country.
