The President Meets Turkey's Ambassador to Iraq

The President of the Republic of Iraq, Abdullatif Jamal Rashid met with the Turkish Ambassador to Iraq, Ali Reza Guney, the meeting took place at the Baghdad Palace.

The Presidency of the Republic said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA),"As part of the meeting, President Rashid stressed the importance of boosting relations and promoting joint efforts between the two countries to further encourage cooperation between them in a variety of sectors."

In his remarks, the President discussed matters such as economics, trade, and the water issue in a manner that would serve the common interests of both countries, which could be achieved through bilateral agreements and memoranda of understanding.

Turkish Ambassador, Guney confirmed his country's commitment to supporting Iraq's security and stability and its people's prosperity.

Additionally, he expressed Turkey's willingness to continue to strengthen its relations with Iraq at all levels, in a manner that would benefit the relationship between the two nations the most.
