Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi received on Sunday a phone call from First Deputy President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ishaq Jahangiri, which he congratulated the prime minister on forming the government.
Jahangiri expressed the confidence of the Islamic Republic of Iran, with the long experience of Abdulmahdi, and the importance of this experience in enabling Iraq to overcome the current difficulties," the prime minister's office said in a statement received by the official INA news agency.
For his part, the prime minister praised the special relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, stressing the need to exchange visits and continuous dialogue, to strengthen relations, remove obstacles and resolve outstanding issues between the two countries.
