President Rashid, Plasschaert discuss the file of the displaced and climate change

    The President of the Republic, Abdullatif Jamal Rashid, and Jeanine Plasschaert Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Iraq and Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq, discussed on Monday, the file of the displaced and climate change.
     
    A statement by the Presidency of the Republic, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said, "The President of the Republic, Abdullatif Jamal Rashid, received today, at the Baghdad Palace, Jeanine Plasschaert Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Iraq and Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq," noting that "Rashid spoke, during the meeting, about the overall political situation in Iraq and the role of the United Nations and the efforts made in the file of the displaced, as well as climate changes."
     
    The statement added, "The work of the United Nations and its associated organizations in supporting Iraq and activating its role, especially in the projects adopted by the United Nations and the humanitarian files represented in resolving the file of the displaced and facilitating their return to their areas of residence, was also discussed during the meeting."
     
    For her part , Plasschaert affirmed "the keenness of the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to do everything possible and help the Iraqis in various fields."
