The Secretary-General of Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq, Sheikh Qais Al-Khazali, stressed on Saturday, the need to stay away from any behavior that weakens Iraq as a state, pointing out that the acts of burning the Holy Qur’an and the Iraqi flag reflect the lowness of its perpetrator.

"Giving approval and security cover to burn the Qur'an means supporting and giving permission for this person," said Sheikh Al-Khazali in a speech that was followed by the Iraqi News Agency - INA, noting, "The position of the Iraqi government and people was due to the political cover of the government of Sweden, which is an advanced position and reflects the level of culture of the Iraqi people."

He added, "We extend our sincere thanks to the reactions of the Iraqis of all their religions," pointing out, "Today's demonstration reflects the civilization and advancement of the Iraqi people, as Iraq has begun to take its role in the region's pivotal issues."

"The acts of burning the Qur'an and the Iraqi flag reflect the lowness of its perpetrator," he included, noting that "the Ministry of Foreign Affairs must follow up if Denmark approves of this act."

Sheikh Khazali asserted, "The duty of the state and the government is to protect diplomatic missions, and they did not fall short of what is required of them," stressing the need to "stay away from any behavior that weakens Iraq as a state."

He stated, "The security services carried out their duty in a professional manner," explaining that "defending the Holy Qur'an is the duty of all Muslims, not Iraq alone," adding, "We must rush to defend the Qur'an and not other things."
