President Rashid stresses the importance of the role of the UN organizations in ending the file of iDPs

The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, stressed on Tuesday , the importance of the role of the United Nations organizations and revitalizing their work in order to help end the file of the displaced.

A statement by the Presidency of the Republic, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated, "The President of the Republic, Abdullatif Jamal Rashid, received today, at the Baghdad Palace, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of the United States of America in Baghdad, David Burger."

During the meeting, Rashid stressed, according to the statement, "the importance of the relations that bring the two countries together in many areas of mutual interest," pointing to "the need to strengthen and develop them in a way that serves common interest."

Speaking about the displaced, he pointed to "the importance of the role of the United Nations organizations and revitalizing their work in order to help end the file of the displaced and provide the required support for their return to their areas."

For his part, , David Burger renewed "US support for the security and stability of Iraq," expressing his country's "aspiration to strengthen the existing bilateral relations between the two countries."
