Iraq hosts the Council of Arab Ministers of Justice, session 39th

    The Minister of Justice Khalid Shwani discussed with his Syrian counterparts Ahmed Al-Sayed and the Palestinian Muhammrd Al-Shalaideh cooperation in the legal fields.

    "Shwani made a phone call with his Syrian counterpart Ahmed Al-Sayed. They discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance them," according to a statement by the Ministry of Justice, received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

    He noted that "mechanisms for implementing the Cabinet decision within the contracts with doctors and health staffs to supplement the correctional department in order to improve the health situation and provide the necessary care for inmates in prison sections."

    Shawani stressed during the call, "Iraq's keenness on interdependence and cohesion between the two countries, coordination and cooperation in the judicial and legal fields, as well as discussing the file of the next meeting of the Council of Arab Ministers of Justice," calling on "the Syrian Minister of Justice to visit Iraq and advance prospects for cooperation in various fields according to the government's program headed by PM Muhammed S. al-Sudani."

    In turn, the Syrian Minister of Justice affirmed that "Al-Sudani's visit received great interest from the government and the Syrian people," noting that "his ministry is ready to cooperate in the legal and justice fields in addition to memorandums of understanding in the interest of the two brotherly people."

    The Minister of Justice also made a phone call to his Palestinian counterpart, Muhammed Al-Shlaydeh. Both discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance them.

    Shawani stressed, "the importance of deepening the historical Iraqi-Palestinian relations and supporting their fateful cause," adding, "The Ministry of Justice has completed the procedures for signing the agreement for the exchange of convicts, coordination and cooperation in the judicial and legal fields between the two parties."

    The two sides discussed Iraq's hosting of the 39th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Justice, which is scheduled to be held in mid-October of this year, according to Iraq's request submitted to the League of Arab States.
