The judiciary directs to tighten procedures against perpetrators of offenses against religious figures and beliefs

    The Supreme Judicial Council directed Today, Monday, to tighten procedures against perpetrators of crimes of insulting religious figures and beliefs.
     
     
    A statement to the judiciary media received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) said: "In view of the recent prevalence of the crime of insulting religious figures and beliefs, the Supreme Judicial Council instructed the competent courts to tighten judicial procedures against the perpetrators of these crimes, which constitute an explicit violation of the provisions of Article 372 of the Penal Code in force, and a call the House of Representatives called for the need to proceed with the legislation of the Information Crimes Law in a way that guarantees the good use of social media and not using it as platforms to stir up strife and destabilize societal security, and to preserve the symbolism and status of religious, social and political figures.
