FIIA arrests the so-called Mufti and the official responsible for the financial guarantees of Al-Sharqat

The Federal Investigation and Intelligence Agency-FIIA announced the arrest of the so-called Mufti and the official in charge of financial guarantees for the Shirqat district.
 
FIIA stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "based on accurate information about the whaerabouts of the so-called Mufti of ISIS in Shirqat district, a team was formed from the FIIA detachments, and after conducting intelligence and technical investigations and with a tight ambush, the detachments were able to arrest the accused in Salah al-Din Governorate,” indicating that “the accused confessed, after writing down his statements and having them judicially certified, that he worked as the so-called legal mufti of the Shirqat district and responsible for financial  guarantees.”
 
The statement added, "The accused also confessed to his participation in the attack that targeted the villages of Al-Zawiya and Al-Khanoukah in 2014, in addition to targeting the security and military services and the attack on the Baiji refinery, affirming that the accused has been referred to the judiciary to receive his just punishment.”
