The Sunni Endowment Office condemned, today, Thursday, the burning of a copy of the Holy Quran in Sweden, indicating that this has nothing to do with peace.
The Diwan stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Sunni Endowment Diwan denounces the disgraceful act that one of the extremists committed by burning a copy of the Holy Qur'an in the state of Sweden in a manner that has nothing to do with peace.".
He added, "The Court also denounces the Swedish authorities' permitting this clear and explicit infringement of the holiest and most honorable book, which is the Holy Qur'an, which in its teachings has always called for peace, respect for other religions, and coexistence with principles that have been clarified to us by the glorious Sharia.".
"God Almighty has preserved His book from all distortion, evil and plot, and transgression against it only increases Muslims' adherence to it and following its correct approach, but this transgression represents a grave insult to a book that is being followed by more than two billion Muslims around the world."
