DGIS captures 6 drug dealers in two Provinces

The Directorate General of Intelligence and Security (DGIS) in the Ministry of Defense announced today, Wednesday, the arrest of (6) drug dealers in the governorates of Najaf and Baghdad.

"under the direction and supervision of the Minister of Defense Thabet Al-Abbasi, and through accurate intelligence information, the detachments of the Directorate of Intelligence and Security in Najaf Governorate were able to arrest (4) drug dealers and promoters red-handed, against whom arrest warrants were issued in accordance with the provisions of Article (28) of the Drugs Law, and they were duly handed over to the competent authorities,” A statement by DGIS, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated.

The statement also mentioned “ Baghdad Intelligence and Security Directorate detachments arrested two drug dealers," adding "the arrest operation came through setting up a tight ambush carried out by the directorate detachments in two areas of Baghdad."
