The Federal Investigation and Intelligence Agency-FIIA announced on Saturday, the arrest of 8 people of foreign nationalities who tried to cross the border into Iraq in Basra.
"According to accurate information and within the framework of intelligence and security efforts to pursue smuggling networks, FIIA detachments were able to arrest 8 people of foreign nationalities who tried to enter Iraqi territory illegally, specifically to the province of Basra, coming from one of the neighboring countries,” stated FIIA in a statement, received by The Iraqi News Agency-INA.
The statement indicated, “The necessary legal measures will be taken against them, and they will be handed over to the competent authorities."
