Al-Saadi: Prime Minister will launch initiative to support cinema, drama and arts

Prime Minister's Advisor for Cultural Affairs Aref al-Saadi confirmed on Friday that Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani will launch an initiative to support cinema, drama and other arts soon.

Al-Saadi said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "There is an initiative by the Prime Minister to support culture in general, especially in the field of cinema, drama, theater, book printing, fine art and music, in addition to festivals in cooperation with the Union of Writers."

He added that "the paper works related to this initiative were submitted to the competent departments responsible for the events, and the answers began to be returned to the Prime Minister's Office, supported by the amounts they need outside the budget, because this initiative is special," pointing out that "the initiative will soon be launched to support cinema and drama within a month and a half to announce the project and implement it on the ground.”
