PM Al-Sudani: The education sector is a top priority for the government

    Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani visited on Tuesday, an examination center this morning to inspect secondary school central examinations for our students in Rusafa, Baghdad accompanied by the Minister of Education.
     
    “Al-Sudani was briefed on the center's procedures and services to ensure the success of the exams. He also reviewed the exam security measures that have been taken to ensure a smooth exam experience for our students,” stated the media office of the prime minster in a statement, received by The Iraqi News Agency (INA).
     
     
    “During the inspection visit, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of avoiding past mistakes and urged all relevant educational bodies to strengthen the educational process and collaborate efforts towards this goal. He also remarked that the education sector is a top priority for the government, aiming to build a resilient society and eradicate undesirable practices. Recognizing its significance, he directed the resolution of administrative and routine obstacles faced by educational personnel, addressing the issues encountered during the inspection visit,” the statement continued.
     
     
    PM Al-Sudani highlighted the National Education Strategy as a guiding framework for all government institutions. He emphasized the need for infrastructure development in the education sector, including the construction of school buildings in Baghdad and other provinces. He noted that 42 schools have been completed in Baghdad, with an additional 250 schools expected to be finished this year across various governorates. Efforts are underway to complete more school buildings in different provinces as well.
     
    The statement added,” The prime minster emphasized the government's commitment to resolve school overcrowding and long-delayed construction projects. He stressed the importance of swift implementation after the budget approval for the Iraq Development Fund project, which includes funding for school building construction”.
     
    The Prime Minister concluded the visit by instructing the teams to provide necessary services to students during exams. The Service and Engineering Teams were assigned to closely monitor examination centers, with a specific focus on the 6th Year of Preparatory School.
