Finance Minister Taif Sami and the UK Ambassador to Iraq, Mark Bryson Richardson, discussed today, Monday, the contribution of the private sector to the overall national economy.
The Ministry of Finance said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Minister of Finance Taif Sami received, today, the UK Ambassador to Iraq, Mark Bryson Richardson, and his accompanying delegation."
The Minister of Finance expressed her welcome to the ambassador's visit, stressing "the strength of the cooperation relations between the Republic of Iraq and the United Kingdom, and the continuous development and growth are witnessed in various fields, especially in the field of finance, economy and investment."
The meeting witnessed the consolidation of bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, through the development of mutual cooperation in the fields of developing the banking sector and the contribution of the private sector to the overall national economy, in addition to discussing the promising investment opportunities that Iraq abounds in.
For his part, Ambassador Richardson expressed his country's aspiration to enhance the ranges of constructive cooperation with Iraq, by providing all forms of technical support and expertise to contribute to sustainable development projects in Iraq.
