Rashid stresses the importance of strengthening and developing bilateral cooperation between Iraq and Jordan

    President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid stressed on Sunday the importance of strengthening and developing bilateral cooperation between Iraq and Jordan.

    According to a statement by the Presidency of the Republic received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received today at Baghdad Palace, Jordanian Interior Minister Mazen Abdullah Hilal Al-Faraya and his accompanying delegation, where the minister conveyed the greetings of Jordanian King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein to the president."
     
    The President of the Republic, according to the statement, "Minister Al-Faraya, during the meeting, which was attended by Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, conveyed his greetings to King Abdullah II," expressing "his thanks and appreciation for the good brotherly feelings of the King."
     
    He pointed to "the depth of relations between the two brotherly countries and peoples," stressing "the importance of strengthening and developing bilateral cooperation between Iraq and Jordan in a way that serves the common interests between them."
     
    He stressed "the need to strengthen security coordination between the two countries," reiterating "Iraq's support for the Kingdom."
     
    He expressed his happiness "for Syria's return to the Arab League," pointing to "the importance of joint action to achieve stability and peace in the region."
     
    He pointed to "the state of security and stability in Iraqi cities and the efforts made in this regard," noting that "the new approach in Iraq is based on effective work and continuing to provide services and achieve welfare for our people."
     
    For his part, the Jordanian Interior Minister thanked the President of the Republic and appreciated his keenness to strengthen relations with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan at various levels, stressing Jordan's "serious desire to close, cooperate and communicate continuously with Iraq on issues of common interest and in a way that serves the higher interests of the two brotherly countries and peoples."
     
    Minister Al-Faraya pointed out that "work is underway to facilitate the granting of entry visas between the two countries."
