Prime Minister Mohamed Shia Al-Sudani directed on Wednesday to work on activating investment opportunities for the industrial sector, while noting that the government is working to provide all guarantees and facilities for the investor.

The Prime Minister, in a speech during the launch of the activities of the Mineral and Petrochemical Investment Conference, fertilizers and cement, and attended by the reporter of the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said that "the mineral investment conference is qualitative and is held for the first time in Iraq," calling on "the private sector to enter and work in Iraq in the industrial field."

He stressed the need to "work to develop this sector through the minerals owned by Iraq and determine Iraq's industrial identity," noting that "there are opportunities offered for investment in the industrial sector and must be activated in the interest of the country."

He explained that "the investment law and its amendments are the best among the countries of the region," stressing that "investors are not burdened with the workforce, and work will be done to achieve a balance between the public and private sectors in terms of the distribution of workers."

Al-Sudani continued, "We will not remain spectators to Iraq as a consumer market, but there will be national production," pointing out that "the government is working to provide all guarantees and facilities, and we will not leave the investor alone."
