Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani affirmed on Saturday, that the Anfal crime was the most heinous aggression driven by hatred and racism that no regime has committed against its citizens.
Al-Sudani said in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA)," With great sadness, we stand together these days to commemorate the tragedy of the crime of the Anfal campaigns on our beloved Kurdish people. The crime perpetrated by the Baathist dictatorial regime was the most heinous aggression driven by hatred and racism that no regime has committed against its citizens”.

“The perpetrators have received the punishment of Allah and the justice of the law, put in the garments of infamy, and will forever be disgraced. Yet, the pain over that crime of genocide against humanity is still in our hearts.

Our people stand stronger and more unified today, with powerful bonds between the various components,”

He added, "We stand together after fighting dictatorship and burying it forever, with all its inciting rhetoric that causes discord and strife. Our people, who survived the Anfal crimes, genocide, and oppression, fought tyranny, and offered martyrs on the path to freedom, are determined to build a secure future for all Iraqis to live as dignified people in their land.

He also confirmed, "Today, we see this sad occasion as a starting point for renewing the covenant of diligence, building, and sacrifice. Today's memory motivates the generations who witnessed the crime and those who did not to join hands and unite for an Iraq in which genocide and mass graves will not be repeated”.

Glory and mercy to the martyrs and oppressed of Iraq
