FM Hussein stresses the importance of holding the meetings of the Iraqi-Omani joint committee

    Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein stressed on Saturday, the importance of holding the meetings of the Iraqi-Omani joint committee, indicating that Iraq is looking forward to activating cooperation frameworks with Oman in various fields.
     
    "Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein met his Omani counterpart, Badr Albusaidi, on the sidelines of the consultative ministerial meeting hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Jeddah," said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs-MOFA in a statement, received by The Iraqi News Agency (INA).
     
     
    During the meeting, the importance of advancing bilateral relations in a way that achieves the interests of both countries was emphasized. The two sides also discussed regional security challenges and their repercussions on the situation in Iraq.
     
    The statement added, “Hussein called for the need to adopt the principle of dialogue in resolving differences in order to end crises in the region. He also briefed his Omani counterpart on the latest developments in Iraq, including the security situation," explaining that "the security situation in Iraq is improving compared to the past." 
     
    FM Hussein pointed out, "The government is making great efforts to repatriate the rest of the IDPs, and to create a safe environment for their return to their areas of residence."
