The Directorate of Sulaymaniyah International Airport announced, this evening, Friday, that an explosion occurred near the airport's outer wall, without causing any injuries.
The Directorate stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "an explosion occurred near the outer wall of Sulaymaniyah International Airport, without causing any injuries," noting that "the explosion caused a fire, and the civil defense teams at the airport immediately arrived at it and controlled the fire.".
The statement added, "The security forces are currently investigating the incident and will issue more information later," pointing out that "there are no problems at the airport, and that flights and airport operations are taking place normally."
