Joint Iranian-Saudi statement: An agreement to resume flights and facilitate the granting of visas

    Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Abdollahian met Thursday, with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, in China, to agree on restoring relations between the two countries.
     
    A joint Iranian-Saudi statement, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated: "Both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation to achieve security and stability in the region, in addition to starting arrangements to reopen the two embassies."
     
    "They also agreed to resume flights and facilitate the issuance of visas to citizens, in addition to the resumption of mutual visits by officials and representatives of the private sector," the statement added.
     
    The joint statement emphasized "Activating the security cooperation agreement between the two countries signed in 2001."
