The Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, arrived on Thursday, in Al-Najaf province.
Ministry of Interior-MOI said in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "The Minister of Interior, Abd al-Amir al-Shammari, arrived today in the holy city of Najaf with the Undersecretaries of the Intelligence, Police and Federal Security," noting, "The delegation also included the commanders of the border forces, the federal police, and the directors of civil affairs, passports, residencies, General Directorate of Traffic, and police."
The statement added, "This visit comes to check on the security reality of the province and follow up on the work and needs of all the departments of the Ministry of Interior in the province," pointing out that "the minister and his accompanying delegation will meet with the governor of Najaf, the head of the Court of Appeal and the local government to discuss a number of issues."
