The Ministry of Trade revealed its steps to support the private sector and employ youth, while announcing the creation of a “stock exchange platform” to determine the prices of goods and promote it globally.

"The department has begun to implement a training and qualification program in cooperation with Iraqi private sector organizations, based on supporting these organizations, and finding strengths in their work, in addition to the training program. This was done by the Ministry’s employees in most departments and companies," said the director of the Private Sector Development Department in the ministry, Muhammed Hanoun, to the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

Hanoun pointed out that "a new building was opened for the department at Baghdad International Fair 100 days ago, as it held many training courses in cooperation with the private sector, as well as developing medium and small projects and holding specialized exhibitions for the owners of these projects."

"Since its inauguration at Baghdad International Fair, the department has attracted more than 250 women to hold an international craft fair in Qishla region, in addition to organizing more than 26 training and qualification courses for workers in the departments of the Ministry of Trade and the private sector, as well as to create a stock exchange platform for the first time in history of the Ministry. Its mission is to determine the prices of food and construction materials, as to promote Iraqi goods and products, whether governmental or for the private sector, according to the international trade point," he highlighted.

He pointed out, "Coordination was made with international bodies, and a workshop was held with a French company, in the presence of Iraqi banks, to obtain funds for medium and small projects."
