Iraq calls on the Red Cross to support its efforts to end the file of the missing

    Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Ahmed Al-Asadi called on the International Red Cross to support Iraq by rehabilitating physical training centers and ending the file of the missing.

    A statement issued by the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said, "The Minister of Labor met with the Vice-President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Gilles Carboner, at the committee's headquarters in Geneva, Al-Asadi demanded the support of the Red Cross for the Ministry of Labor's efforts to rehabilitate physical training centers for people with disabilities in Nineveh and Dhi Qar and prepare surveys for these people.   

    Al-Asadi also called for Iraq's support in the file of the displaced and their reintegration in their areas of residence, as well as support for the government's work to end the file of the missing and to compensate their families with generous sums, according to the statement.  

    Also, during the meeting, according to the statement, they discussed efforts to establish a department within the ministry concerned with the affairs of Yazidi survivors, and to launch an electronic platform through which survivors can apply for a salary of 800,000 dinars.
