Prime Minister Mr. Mohammed S. Al-Sudani Received OPEC Secretary General

Prime Minister Mr. Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani, received today OPEC Secretary General Mr. Haitham Al Ghais.
 
The media office of the Prime Minister said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that during the meeting “They discussed the major challenges facing oil markets today, ways and efforts of stabilizing prices, and the importance of coordination between oil-exporting countries to ensure that prices do not fluctuate and affect the exporting and consuming countries.
 
Al-Sudani reaffirmed Iraq's pivotal role as a founding member of OPEC, indicating that the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) was founded in Baghdad and that Iraq has always contributed positively to securing stability in the region.
 
Prime Minister stated that Iraq continues its efforts to advance the projects of natural gas and associated gas exploration and production in a way that secures the best revenues for the Iraqi people and contributes to reducing carbon emissions and environmental impacts and their economic and health effects.
