President Rashid discusses with the Italian Ambassador the program of his visit to Rome

    The President of the Republic, Abdullatif Rashid, discussed with Palace italy's ambassador to Baghdad Maurizio Greganti, on Monday, the program of his visit to Rome.

    The Presidency of the Republic stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the President of the Republic, Abdullatif Jamal Rashid, received, at the Baghdad Palace italy's ambassador to Baghdad Maurizio Greganti."

    The President of the Republic stressed, according to the statement, "the need to develop bilateral relations and enhance aspects of cooperation and investment between Iraq and Italy in a way that serves common interests," noting "the importance of coordination, exchange of experiences and visits between the two countries, especially with regard to the maintenance of dams, irrigation projects, agriculture to cultural aspects, and the development of archaeological sites and museums."

    The two sides discussed "the program of the upcoming visit of the President to Italy based on an invitation addressed to the President of the Republic by Italian President Sergio Mattarella,  which is the first visit organized by an Iraqi president."

    In turn, the Italian ambassador affirmed, "his country's desire to strengthen relations and expand ways of cooperation with Iraq in various fields for the benefit of the two friendly peoples," noting that "his country is currently working on organizing a large exhibition dedicated to the civilization of the Mesopotamia in coordination with the Iraqi side."
