Al-Sudani confirms advancing joint work with Egypt

    Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani affirmed on Sunday Iraq's readiness to move forward in advancing joint work with the Arab Republic of Egypt.

     The media office of the Prime Minister stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani met today with the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, as part of his official visit to the Egyptian capital, Cairo, in which he arrived on Sunday morning.”

    It added, "During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, and ways to consolidate them, in addition to discussing a number of regional and international issues of common interest," noting that "the meeting also witnessed discussion of activating joint committees, in a way that strengthens the partnership between the two brotherly countries."

    Al-Sudani affirmed, according to the statement, "Iraq's readiness to move forward in advancing joint work, and open up to new horizons of cooperation and integration in various fields."

    For his part, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi expressed "Egypt's desire and readiness to cooperate with Iraq in various fields," stressing "his pride in Iraq, its status and role in the region."
