Minister of Migration and Displacement, Evan Faiq Jabro, announced Wednesday the return of (1,637) displaced persons from the Ashti camp and the center of Sulaymaniyah governorate to their areas of residence in five governorates.
Jabro said in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "(1,637) displaced persons, totaling (301) families, have returned from the Ashti camp and the center of Sulaymaniyah governorate to their areas of original residence in the governorates of Salah al-Din, Anbar, Diyala, Nineveh and Baghdad."
She added, "The return came as a continuation of the stabilization program for the returning families, as well as coordination with the security forces and local governments in the governorates after obtaining the fundamental approvals to secure their return."
