Al-Halbousi stresses the need to set a timetable for approving draft laws

    Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi stressed today, Tuesday, during his hosting by the State of Law Parliamentary Bloc, the need to set a timetable for the approval of draft laws.
     
     
    The bloc said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The State of Law Parliamentary Coalition bloc hosted, today, Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi," indicating, "During the meeting, developments in the political and security situation in the country were discussed, and the work of the parliament during the period coming.”
     
    According to the statement, the bloc's deputies stressed "the importance of activating the legislative and oversight role of the House of Representatives, and coordinating positions and cooperation between political forces, in order to issue legislation that affects the needs of the Iraqi citizen."
     
      Al-Halbousi stressed "the necessity of identifying draft laws that have not been approved so far and setting a timetable for approval," pointing to "the keenness of the Council Presidency to cooperate with the parliamentary blocs in order for the Council to be representative of all the people."
