Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research - MOHESR announced on Monday, that the “Study in Iraq” initiative includes public and private universities, indicating that it includes facilities for foreign students.
"The 'Study in Iraq' initiative comes as part of an ambitious plan by the Ministry to complete global interaction. Attracting foreign students is one of the most important criteria in the light of which university institutions are evaluated," said the Ministry spokesman Haider Al-Aboudi in a statement to Al-Iraqiya News TV, followed up by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
He noted, "The Study in Iraq initiative is considered one of the important global experiences that exist in UK, Australia and the region. There is a directive to facilitate procedures for receiving foreign students, equivalence of certificates, and authentication of their documents, certificates at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in their countries, while facilitating access and providing a housing environment for the student.”
"This initiative includes public and private universities. The most important challenges we face are the financial challenges, which will be overcome in the current year's budget. There are no less than 100 Iraqi governmental and private institutions within the international classifications, and this is a positive indicator," he explained.
