The President of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union announced today, Saturday, the formation of a delegation from the Union to visit Syria.
Al-Halbousi said in a speech during the closing statement of the 34th Conference of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union, "It was decided to form a delegation from the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union to visit Syria, as an affirmation of our support to the people of Syria.".
He added, "The Arab Parliamentary Union condemns the crime of burning a copy of the Qur'an that was committed in Sweden, and supports the addition of an emergency clause in the meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, condemning contempt of religion."
He stressed "the necessity of continuing dialogue and discussion between brothers."
