Culture Ministry: PM showed great interest in dealing with the files related to the Opera House

    The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities announced on Thursday,  that Prime Minister Mohamed Shiaa Al-Sudani has shown great interest in dealing with the files related to the Opera House, while setting Appointment for its implementation.

    The ministry's spokesman, Ahmed Al-Alaywi, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "The opera house, which the company executing it has breached its obligations, is part of the government and the Ministry of Culture's interest."

    Al-Olaywi added, "The issue was presented to the Prime Minister, who in turn showed great interest in addressing the outstanding files when he met the Minister of Culture and a number of those concerned with this file during a lengthy session," stressing that "during the session, details of lagging cultural projects were discussed, including the opera house project Al-Iraqiya, which was handed over earlier to a Turkish company, but it did not complete the construction and breached its obligations, and the file was referred to the judiciary."

    He pointed out, "The government is now significantly interested in the completion of cultural buildings that must be present for the cultural movement, especially the opera house."
    He pointed out that "the ministry went to announce this project, and it will be referred and implemented with the provision of the necessary financial allocations to launch it again," stressing that "this project is an important step in order to support the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities in establishing the necessary buildings to perform its tasks, and for this to be The buildings are part of the cultural revitalization of the community."

    Prime Minister Mohamed Shia Al-Sudani directed, earlier, the necessity of ending the stalled Opera House file.
